About New Masjid Project

Purpose-Built for Worship and Community

Our current facility, repurposed from a laundromat in 1996, no longer meets the needs of our growing and diverse community. The new masjid will be purpose-built to provide spacious, dedicated areas for prayer, education, and social engagement. Designed from the ground up, it will reflect our faith, values, and commitment to future generations. A true home for worship, learning, and unity—crafted to serve all.

14,680 sqft on 5 Acres of Land

Phase 1 of our visionary project will rise on 14,680 sqft, nestled within 5 acres of prime land. This land was acquired in 2016 and fully paid off by our dedicated local community within just a few years. This remarkable achievement reflects the unity and strength of our community, whose unwavering support has laid the foundation for all that lies ahead. With this milestone reached, we are now ready to bring our shared dream to life, Insha’Allah.

Designed for All: Men, Women, Youth & Elderly

Our new masjid is thoughtfully designed to welcome everyone in the community. Spacious prayer areas for both men and women offer comfort and a respectful space for worship. Dedicated areas for youth and children will foster learning, connection, and engagement. Special attention has been given to the needs of the elderly, with thoughtfully designed features ensuring easy access and a serene environment. This center will be a place where every generation feels valued and connected.

A Visionary Project for Generations

This is more than a building—it’s an investment in our future. Nearly $500,000 has already been raised through the generosity of our community. The project is estimated at $500 per square foot, totaling approximately $7.34 million for Phase 1. Together, we can create a lasting legacy that will serve our children, youth, and generations to come, Insha’Allah.

Note: Cost estimates may vary with market conditions.

The Only Islamic Center Within an Hour’s Drive

Colorado Springs, the 2nd largest city in Colorado, is home to 478,000 residents and ranked among the Top 10 Best Places to Live in the U.S., there is no purpose-built Islamic Center within an hour’s drive. Our growing Muslim community includes families, professionals, students, and military members seeking a dedicated space for worship and unity. This project will serve as a vital hub for faith, education, and community right here in Colorado Springs.

Our Journey: Milestones Towards a Shared Dream

Before 1996 – Prayers in Rented Spaces

Before we had a permanent location, our community gathered for prayers in rented facilities, often shifting from one place to another. Despite the uncertainty and frequent relocations, the spirit of unity and faith remained strong, keeping the flame of hope alive for a permanent house of worship.

1996 – Humble Beginnings

Our journey started in a repurposed laundromat, serving as the first masjid for our community. Despite its limitations, it was a place of unity, worship, and growth.

2016-2018 – Land Secured and Paid Off

In 2016, we took a bold step by acquiring 5 acres of prime land for our future masjid. Through the unwavering support of our local community, this land was fully paid off by 2018, laying a strong foundation for what’s to come.

2019-2022 – COVID Delays & Reflection

As the world stood still, Allah showed His signs. The pandemic delayed our progress but strengthened our faith and renewed our commitment to building a center for future generations.

2022-2024 – Vision Planning & Approvals

During this period, we focused on refining our vision, completing detailed architectural plans, and submitting them to city and county authorities for approval. Soft fundraising supported essential administrative and preparatory costs. Approvals are in progress, Insha’Allah.

2025 – Launch of the Fundraising Campaign

While continuing to work with city and county officials on approvals, we launched our fundraising campaign to support the construction of Phase 1. Together, we move forward to turn our shared vision into reality, Insha’Allah.

Future – Construction Begins (Insha’Allah)

With your support, we aim to begin Phase 1 construction—building a lasting legacy of faith, learning, and community for generations to come.

Together, We Hold the Power to Shape Our Future—and That Future Begins Now.

This is more than a building project—it is a vision born of faith, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to lay the foundation for generations to come. Our new masjid will be a place where faith flourishes, where hearts find peace, and where our children grow with pride in their identity as Muslims. It is a sacred trust, a legacy that begins with us—but will serve those who follow.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, seeking His pleasure, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Bukhari 450).

During the time of the Prophet (ﷺ), when Masjid al-Nabawi was built, every companion took part—from carrying bricks to donating their most cherished belongings. It was their unity, their collective effort, that created a center of faith that still stands today as a symbol of devotion.

Similarly, Uthman ibn Affan (RA) gave generously for the first mosque in Madinah and later purchased the well of Rumah for the Muslim community. The Prophet (ﷺ) declared, “Whatever Uthman does after today will not harm him.” (Tirmidhi 3701). Their sacrifices weren’t just about wealth—they were about building the Ummah.

Today, we are called to do the same.

Our masjid will stand in the vibrant city of Colorado Springs, where a growing Muslim community awaits a place to pray, learn, and connect. But to bring this vision to life, we must come together—as one body, as one Ummah. “The believers are like a structure, each part strengthening the other.” (Bukhari & Muslim).

This is a Sadaqah Jariyah, a charity that will outlive us all, multiplying in reward long after we are gone. Now is the time to act, to invest in our Hereafter, and to build something that will serve not just our needs, but the dreams of our children and their children.

Let us rise to this noble cause, just as the companions did—with faith, with unity, and with determination.
Together, we shape the future—and we are building it today, Insha’Allah
